When the Glory of God Returns

admin January 16, 2019

Are you prepared to face your Creator?

And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?

—Luke 18:7–8

When the pattern is right, the glory will come!

Are we following God’s will? Or are we following what we want to think is God’s will? Our answer will reveal how we live our lives here on earth.

Are we like those people who made the House of the Lord a house of robbers and thieves? What do we mean by robbers and thieves? These people are not what we think they are. They are robbing the believers of the opportunity and true meaning of worshipping God genuinely.

Or are we the ones who take God’s word in our hearts? Do we constantly take time to read His Word, worship Him with joy, and rise above the tribulations that comes when we follow Him?

The earthly pattern is a mere representation of heaven which reveals Jesus as “the tabernacle that dwelled among us” in every facet. Furthermore, what puts the earth under heaven is that the former only lasts for a while. The latter is forever. God justifies it further by the coming of His only Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.”

Jesus warns us to be wary of how we view his temple here on earth. That we should see beyond the things we see inside it. The altar, the intricate markings, the gold, the gifts and offerings, the pillars, the preacher. All these things only represent the eternal dwelling place of God, the glory of God.

From the day we are baptized into the Christian faith, we are given the mission to go out and proclaim the Good News and reveal God’s glory in all the earth. Our faith will propel us to do His will. But this does not mean easy work. With so many distractions and distorted information to gain earthly treasures, we are vulnerable to heartaches, deception, and danger. To guide us in our earthly journey, we have this verse to remind us daily.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Rom. 12:2)

If we fix our eyes on God’s glory, we will eventually see His hands in everything: He is all loving, all merciful, and all just. Even in times of darkness, his light shines even brighter, rescuing the ones who remain faithful until the last day when Jesus will return. Every living thing will bow before His eternal glory.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (Phil. 4:8)

For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, now and forever. Amen.
