Seeking the Face of Jesus

admin June 5, 2019

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.  Psalm 27:4

Humans can unlock the door of worship and through the examples of three tabernacles – the Davidic, the Mosaic, and the full revelation of Jesus Christ, one can start to enter into the Throne Room of Heaven, or the Holy of Holies. This signals the start of entering personally into a deeper and higher dimension of worship. People often seek the face of Jesus in almost everything and everywhere but only the true believers would be able to notice it and rejoice.

One may wonder what a true believer means. It can be said that an individual with a spiritual washing, sanctification, and consecration of the heart is a true believer. At the same time, s/he must work in accordance with God’s will and stay away from anything that indicates a lack of reverence for the holy things of God. One can understand it better by reading through 1 Chronicles 13:3-9.

A true believer should also know the right way of worshiping God. Though there are several good ideas and patterns of worship, the source must be heavenly or based on the Word of God. If it boasts of an earthly origin and is of the flesh, the Lord must cleanse the same from its worldly pattern. It’s important to make a complete surrender to Him because only Jesus can purge one’s sins and refine the person as pure gold. Yet, for the true believers who have been washed over by divine light, the face of Jesus becomes omnipresent.

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 1 Corinthians 13:12 NIV

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18

As we continue to be conformed to His image, we may see His reflection and His eyes of fire staring back at us from the Mirror of His Word!
